Our Favorite Favorite Thing: A Christiania Bike Shoutout on Cup of Jo
We did a joyful double take this week while reading Cup of Jo—one of our longtime favorite corners of the internet.
For the uninitiated, Cup of Jo is a beloved lifestyle blog founded by Joanna Goddard. It’s one of those rare places online that feels like a warm, funny group chat between smart, curious friends—covering everything from beauty tips to heartbreak to what everyone’s making for dinner (and whether the kids will eat it).
This week, they featured writer and slow-living inspiration Erin Boyle in a roundup of her favorite things. Erin is the voice behind Tea Notes, a thoughtful newsletter on simplicity, parenting, making things by hand, and finding beauty in the small stuff. She’s also the co-author of the new book Making Things, a gentle guide to crafting with simple materials and zero pressure to be perfect.
And nestled in the list along with her go-to salve and favorite sandwich...
A Christiania Bike.
“We have a used cargo bike that has brought us lots of joy over the years. The cargo part was rotted when we bought it, so we rebuilt the box. Now, the kids are too heavy for me to ride it, so James takes the cargo bike and I follow on a Citi Bike.”
It made our day.
There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing our bikes become part of people’s real, lived-in lives. They haul groceries and beach towels and pizza and paintbrushes. They’re rebuilt and repaired and passed down. They become characters in a family story.
So thank you, Erin (and Cup of Jo), for the love. We’re honored to be a small part of your everyday magic.

And while you’re at it, we highly recommend her book and newsletter.
