Where can I try a bike?
If you are nearby to us in Santa Cruz, CA please reach out to schedule a test ride. We have a few select dealers in the USA and Canada where you can test ride a bike. We also have happy customers who are enthusiastic brand ambassadors for us--email us to see if we have someone in your area!
Capacity?
The Christiania bike box is built to hold 220lbs of cargo plus the biker for a total weight capacity of 550lbs. You'll be impressed what all you can fit in your bike! Here's a blog post on some of what we've hauled.
What are seating options? How many passengers can I carry?
Scroll through the models on our home page under the heading--"Which Christiania is right for you?" There are lots of different seating configurations and you can customize to fit your needs best. This blog post explains more of your options.
Can the seat be adjusted?
Yes-it is easy to adjust the seat height for different bikers!
What is the weight of a bike?
The classic Christiania weighs up approximately 75lbs and the electric assist with battery 100lbs. Very light compared to other bikes on the market!
How fast can I go using cargo bike electrical assist?
Our bikes conform to European class one e-bike specifications. Maximum assist speed is 25 km/h.
Where can I get my bike serviced?
Christiania bikes can be serviced at any reputable bike shop in your area. They are built using high quality standard components. If you ever have any issues sourcing parts you or your mechanic can contact us directly. Also check out the replacement parts section of our website. What are the ebike options?
Electric bike options are either a Rear-drive (with a Promovec power train) or a Mid-drive (with a Shimano power train). For more on the difference between these two read this blog post.
How long does the battery last?
The short answer is it depends! Your battery can last 15-50 miles depending upon weight, speed, terrain and assist levels. Read this blog post to learn more about your bike battery range.
How do I keep my bike safe?
Buy a hefty extra chain lock and use it in tandem with a frame lock mounted on your bike. Lock the cargo bike to something solid. Take a photo of the cargo bike and of the VIN number. Consider using an AirTag. And personalize your bike!
Are there conversion kits to change my non-electric bike to an electric bike?
At this time we don't offer a conversion kit, but there are those that have converted their bikes!
How can I transport my bike?
Your Christiania can easily fit in a truck or trailer. They also fit great in a van such as a sprinter. We have also easily transported our bike using a hitch rack. For more information on transporting your bike, check out this blog post.
Delivery
Your bike is shipped or delivered to you fully assembled and ready to ride! In stock bikes are available for in store pick-up, delivery within the Bay area or shipping within the continental US and Canada. Shipping takes 5-10 business days from the time it leaves our shop. Special Orders
Custom bikes are available--plan on 8-12 weeks for delivery. If you are placing an order for multiple bikes for a business, non-profit or community organization or just want something extra special, email us at hey@christianiabikesamerica.com for pricing.
Accessories
We carry a large selection of accessories for your bike. In stock accessories will be shipped out ASAP. Accessories that are not in stock will be shipped directly from the factory and make take up to 4 weeks. For some of our favorite accessories check out this blog post.
Policies
As Christiania Bikes are built to order, all sales are final. If your bike is damaged in shipping or has any defects upon delivery, please contact us immediately. New, unused accessories can be returned within 30 days. If you have any issues with your order, please reach out and send us an email to hey@christianiabikesamerica.com.
