Cruising Tahoe: One Cargo Bike, One Kid, and One Perfect Fall Day
The East Shore Trail in Tahoe might just be one of the best ways to spend a fall afternoon—especially if you’ve got a Christiania bike and a sidekick like my son Olaf.
The path hugs the lake with that unreal Tahoe-blue water sparkling the whole way. It’s smooth, scenic, and super easy—ideal for cruising with a kid up front giving you snack commentary and unsolicited directions. (“Go faster, but not too fast. And stop if there’s a squirrel.”)
We rolled past beautiful little bays, waved at friendly folks on foot and bike, and ended up at a quiet little beach. We parked the bike, kicked off our shoes, and called it a day well spent.
Honestly, this is why we love the Christiania. It turns a regular ride into a mini adventure—with room for snacks, towels, toys, and whatever else your co-pilot insists on bringing.
Highly recommend: Tahoe in the fall, this trail, and any excuse to ride with one of your favorite humans up front.
