Leanne Ford’s Favorite Things? Christiania Bikes Made the List.

We always knew Christiania bikes were stylish, functional, and just a little bit iconic—but now we’ve got the New York Magazine seal of approval, thanks to designer and HGTV star Leanne Ford.

In a recent Strategist feature on her favorite things, Leanne sings the praises of her Christiania cargo bike, inspired by a trip to Copenhagen for 3 Days of Design. As she puts it:

“I was watching everybody use these bikes. I mean, there’d be full families of five in their little box bikes. I thought, If they can do it, we can do it. And since we live in a small town, we all pile in to bop around town. I take my daughter, Ever, around in that thing constantly.”

And she really means constantly. Rain or shine, Leanne and her crew are cruising in true Euro style—turning everyday errands into sweet little rides. She even called it “so very European of us,” which we consider high praise.

Leanne’s Christiania bike is doing what these Danish-designed beauties do best: bringing joy, ease, and a whole lot of charm to everyday life. Whether you’re hauling flowers, kids, beach towels, or baguettes (we don’t judge), there’s something magical about swapping the car for three wheels and a big cozy box.
