Mexico City and Bike Life

We just booked a week in Mexico City for spring break, and we are very excited. Like thinking about ordering street food excited.

We were there last June and absolutely fell in love with the city. The food, the art, the design, the color — Mexico City is basically a full-body creative reset. You walk around for an hour and suddenly you’re like, “Should I repaint my whole house? Should I start wearing brighter colors? Should I eat street corn every day?”

But one of the most inspiring parts of the trip was something we weren’t even expecting: the bike culture. From food delivery to commuting to everyday transportation, Mexico City made it really clear that bikes have a place in big cities — not as a “cute idea,” but as real, practical urban life.

We explored the city with Abby Lawson-Claw’s beautiful book, This is Mexico City, which breaks the city into neighborhoods in a way that’s super design-forward and honestly just makes you want to wander forever.

We’ll be back soon and can't wait!
